As part of the testing, researchers from both companies will investigate customer reactions to interacting with a self-driving vehicle as a part of their delivery experience. FORD PROVIDES MORE THAN $3.5M TO HURRICANE RELIEF; OFFERS 'TEXAS IS FAMILY' PACKAGE TO AID VICTIMS
   
Ford Motor Company, our employees and our dealers are working to help victims of Hurricane Harvey rebuild their lives. Ford dealers and Ford Motor Company commit to raising more than $3.5 million in hurricane relief for affected communities, first responders, dealership employees and their families. Ford Fund is contributing up to $500,000 to the American Red Cross, The Salvation Army and other agencies to assist with the relief effort. Ford is extending a special “Texas Is Family” assistance bundle for customers whose vehicles were lost or destroyed; this includes the same no-haggle, below-invoice price as Ford employees and their families receive, with payments deferred until next year. Teams of Ford employees from 38 countries will feed the hungry, provide clean water, and repair schools and shelters throughout September – Ford Global Caring Month. In the United States, Ford volunteers in 24 states will go to work in their communities with a Ford Accelerated Action Day on Sept. 15. Kurt Busch led Ford Performance to its fifth Daytona 500 victory in the last nine years with a dramatic victory Sunday afternoon at Daytona International Speedway. Ford Customer Service Division launches Omnicraft, an all-new brand of replacement parts for all makes of non-Ford vehicles. Non-Ford customers now are able to purchase parts and have their vehicles serviced at Ford dealerships. The 1,500 most commonly requested parts are now available and include oil filters, brake pads and rotors, loaded struts, and starters and alternators. The list of available parts will eventually grow to 10,000 for even more customer convenience. Omnicraft is the first new brand for Ford’s Customer Service Division in 50 years and is an important growth opportunity for dealerships as they will be able to sell parts and offer service for all vehicles.  Read More
